Numbers continued to climb as the robust Saskatoon market rolled on through February.
Total MLS Listings, sales and dollar volumes all rose substantially during the second month of the year according to statistics posted on its website by the Saskatoon Region Association of Realtors (SRAR).
Figures indicate an increase of almost 70 per cent in MLS volume to date through 2008, with $122,728,594 dollar volume in February ($91,030,071 in 2007). The two near-identical dollar volume months bring the running total for 2008 to $224,0904,220.
There were 782 units listed in February compared with 529 a year ago and 503 in 2007. This year’s totals mark a 48-per-cent increase from the comparable period of 2007 with total MLS listings up 45% on the month to 1,352 from 931.
MLS residential sales within designated areas 1 through 5 were shown to total $96,986,986, a healthy 61-per-cent increase from the $60 million of February, 2007, with the two-month total MLS residential sale figures at $174,820,219, a 72-per-cent increase from January and February, 2007.
There were 483 listings shown in areas 1 through 5, up 40 per cent from 344 in February, 2008, with total listing for the two months of 843 showing a 34-per-cent increase from the 629 of January-February, 2007. Sales also were up, with 367 units moving compared with 321 a year ago and sales for the year now showing a 24% rise from a year ago.
In the residential areas designated 6 through 9, February’s total dollar volume reached $21,674,174, a 65% increase over February, 2007 ($13,104,800). Total volume in those areas through January and February now stands at $33,486,924.
Listings in areas 6-9 were up 53 per cent, with 158 units listed in areas 6-9 compared with 103 a year ago. Sales also were up, with 99 units moving compared with 82 in February, 2007.
